Trip Recap, Third Trimester Update, and Life in General

Hello my sweet friends and happy Monday! We are back at it for another week and I couldn’t be more excited because I feel like I can finally get my 2024 year kicked into high gear! I feel like when you are on vacation time sort of stands still and “if” it’s a really good vacation you have no clue what day it is, let alone what day of the week it is haha. This was definitely me this past week, and as a result, I feel like January is just getting started, even though it is actually already January 8th! So, I am more than ready to take on this week ahead. I can’t wait to get myself a bit more organized, especially after a fun-filled vacation.

If you missed it, my husband and daughter and I spent the past week in California with my family. I am originally from Ventura, Ca (a small beach town just north of LA) but currently live in Charlotte, NC with my husband and daughter (and baby on the way!). We try to get back to California a few times a year and it seems like the beginning of January is always a good time. Everyone is typically still on some sort of vacation mode and things haven’t sprung back into action just yet, so we find we can easily see people and spend time with family and friends. This year, we actually went out right before New Years and got to spend New Years Eve with my family which was an absolute blast.

I am one of four girls, all of us married, and all of us with two kids a piece (my second is obviously not quite here yet haha), so a holiday where all of us can be together is the most beautiful chaos. It brings me SO MUCH JOY to see all of us together and if you add in all the dogs, it is even more fun. The kids range from 1-13 and getting to see them all together laughing and carrying on…words can’t express how fun it is. Now, it can be a bit overwhelming at times too, but I wouldn’t change it for the world and cherish those memories and moments so much. So even though we all went to bed by 8:30pm, it was one of the best New Years I have ever had.

The rest of the trip was then filled with so many more adventures like the Santa Barbara Zoo, adult date night (thank you again Mom Dad), pancakes with GG (my grandma), and even a girls’ trip to Solvang! I had the best time and feel like family time always fills up my cup.

Now, after a fabulous trip, I am so ready to start this year! I love January because it is always when I purge the house and get organized and I can’t wait to do it all again this year. Plus, starting our New Year reset is going to be so much fun! Remember, to stay tuned to my Instagram to find out which number out of our twelve we will be starting with this week! If you aren’t sure what I am talking about, head over to THIS blog post to read on and don’t worry if you are starting late. I have had to do two (even three) in one week to catch up and sometimes it’s just that way! The fun is all in helping us get some things off our to-do list we have been avoiding.

I’m personally hoping this will help me get a little bit more prepared for baby number 2 and make it not so overwhelming. I seriously can’t believe we are in the third trimester! This pregnancy has flown by and I am not going to lie, I feel like I have QUITE a bit to do before they arrive.

I am 30 weeks pregnant this week and to think I may only have about 10 weeks left is WILD. I don’t know where the time went, but I do know I can’t wait to meet them. What I am thankful for, though, is how good I have felt overall. I have been able to move so much more this pregnancy and feel like that has made such a big difference in my overall health. I actually have an appointment today, so I will be sure to share how that goes on my stories.

I hope you all have a fabulous Monday and if you are feeling like January is slipping by, don’t worry! Let’s start everything together this week and really get our motivation flowing. Remember, that you don’t need to overcomplicate things, either. Choose one to-do or one intention to focus on and just do that. Make it manageable and realistic for your life. I always aim to remind myself that if I can just be 1% better than yesterday, then I am doing something right and moving towards my goals.
