End of the Week Round Up: Christmas Trees, Holiday Advice, and Pajamas

Posey Cat and the beautiful tree

Well hello hello my friends! I am back and finally starting feel like my old self. This week was an absolute doozy with being sick and I had about a day in a half where I couldn’t recall ever having been that sick. It was crazy! But, I am so happy to finally be feeling more like my normal self and thought how fun it would be to end the week with a round up, even though (let’s be honest), I haven’t been doing a ton of things, in my haze I did discover a few amazing nuggets, I had to share with you all.

First up, is something I have been sharing all over my instagram and has been giving me so much joy! Like, I seriously am so happy every time I see it and that is my Christmas tree! When I tell you this tree was worth every dollar, it was seriously worth every dollar. I am so obsessed with it! So backstory, I have been wanting this tree for THREE SEASONS now. The first season, I was like mmmm it’s a lot of money, maybe I shouldn’t, so I waited until the second season. The second season, I waited too long and it sold out. So this year, I was like I will get this tree if it is the last thing I do and started stalking their website in July for it. It finally came out in October and as soon as I saw it, I purchased. I am so beyond happy with it and feel like it is the most magical tree ever. It lights up our living room with the perfect glow and is such good quality. Right now, it is less $300 and when I saw run, don’t walk, I mean it! You won’t regret it.

Next up, is just a thought that I will definitely be expanding upon on a bigger blog post, but that is to truly embrace this season, you guys. How many times do we let the holidays slip by and feel like they were rushed, stressful, and overwhelming? I know, I have, and quite honestly I am done with it. I want to begin to enjoy the holiday season and not feel like I let it pass me by. There is so much to be thankful for and there is so much magic and beauty all around us. I think we just need to take the time to really look up and see it all. If you are needing more tips on this, stay tuned, because I will definitely have a blog post out on how I am trying to implement this all into my life this year.

Number three is the importance of a good pajama! Clearly with not feeling well this week, I was in nothing but sweats and pajamas and while we all know how I feel about the Nordstrom Pajamas, I recently started wearing a new brand that I got our family pjs from this year and that is Lake Pajamas. I originally discovered this brand via an instagram ad (guys, they get me so good) and had saved them as a possibility for our Christmas pjs and I am SO happy I did. We have already ordered and received our pjs for this year and I am so beyond in love. Here is the set I ordered, but they have so many options and they are seriously butter soft. They are definitely on the pricier side, but I think good pjs are always worth the price. I think these would be great to ask for for the holidays if you need an idea, orrrr they would be great to gift, as well. I have nothing but good things to say! If you do order, I recommend sizing down, but they have. great sizing guide on their website for reference.

Lastly, is another little piece of advice. With this holiday season knocking on our door, I want you to remind yourself of one thing and that is the importance of WANTING to do something versus feeling like you SHOULD do something. Within society there is so much pressure to do x, y, and z and it can feel overwhelming at times. Social media can add to the stress by allowing us to see into each others lives like we have never done before making us believe that one persons choices, is the guide. We are then bombarded with the feeling like we have to do it all, and I am here to tell you, YOU DO NOT. Don’t think about what you should be doing, instead think about what you want to do. What feels right to you. What does your heart tell you. Follow her, because she is always right. I hope this makes sense and I hope this advice helps guide you through a season that has become so overwhelming over in the years and reminds you to look inside – what do you WANT, not what SHOULD YOU DO.

As always, feel free to leave comments below and let me know if you are liking this type of content or are wanting to see something different. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve and am always here to serve you.

Happy Friday, my friends!

xoxo,

Melissa Wilson
