Alright, today is your special day.
This is the day that you receive Krista’s Infamous Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
For those of you that need a little back story, Krista is one of my sisters. She is second oldest and is an amazing cook/baker (we call her Martha Stewart). She loves it and it truly shows in all that she does. One summer, she decided to perfect the chocolate chip cookie and ya’ll…did she do it.
This recipe is out of this world and was quickly ranked as number one chocolate chip cookie by my husband. Which is a pretty big deal given that he has made it his sole mission in life to test taste every chocolate chip cookie he can get his hands on.
She gave me the green light to release it, so today, here it is!
Krista’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3.5 cups flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 heaping tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
- chocolate chips (as many as you would like)
Preheat oven to 400
Mix butter and sugars until light and fluffy
Add eggs and vanilla and beat again until fluffy
Mix all other dry ingredients in a separate bowl
Add dry ingredients to wet in 1/2 cup increments; mix well
Add chocolate chips
Scoop, dip in sugar, place in fridge for at least 40 min
Bake at 400 until just starting to brown, then turn oven down to 365 and bake until golden at edges
Let cool on pan
A few notes: Be sure oven rack is one down from middle and melt butter for about 17 seconds prior to mixing. We have also noticed that some of the cooking times can vary based off of location within the country, so let me know if you have any issues and we will help with trouble shooting as best we can.
If you try these, you HAVE to tag me or send me an email! Like, it’s a must.
And when I tell you they are the BEST though, I am not joking. I say a summer above because I believe the process started in the summer, but if I am not mistaken it did take her about 6 months until she felt like it was perfect. 6 months of chocolate chip cookie testing!!! I mean..honestly.
